We have developed this small range of preserves made with honey and a sugar substitute to give a jam with a much lower sugar count than conventional jam.
Some ‘No Added Sugar’ jams use concentrated fruit juice as a sugar replacement which yields virtually the same sugar content as conventional jams. There are other ‘No Added Sugar’ jams available which use sorbital or similar as a substitute for sugar but these have a warning on the label regarding laxative effects if too much is consumed and they are not joking!
Legally our Fruitiful Preserves come under the ‘No Added Sugar’ banner but as we have used honey rather than concentrated fruit juice or sugar, we felt it dishonest to use this term.
There are four preserves in our new range – Strawberry, Raspberry, Whortleberry and Seville.
